Pichilemu!

I`m going to talk about a very wonderful and funny place in Chile, that place is very special for me because is the first place where I went without my parents when I had 13 and I went with my little cousin (she had 10) and my aunt.

The travel started in the summer vacation after to visit Rengo (placed close to Rancagua). One day my aunt decided to travel to Pichilemu that is one of my favorite places in Chile, because is a ideal place for to do a lot of thing, for example when with my cousin were teen-years we liked for example to go to the typical craft fair and we bought earring, handicrafts or souvenir for my parents, typical food, sweet and chocolates.

Then in the morning we went to ride horse in the beach, it was very funny and new experience for me. In the actuality I love to ride horse and I hope does it again.
We went to a restaurant because we liked to eat a delicious fish and French fry but my aunt ordered fish and salad.

Finally we went to the beach and swimming in the dangerous water of the Pichilemu`s sea, because that place is special for to practice surf, is a typical zone visited for surfer of different countries.

In the actuality with my cousin visiting Pichilemu in company of my aunt and my uncle, but the different is that with my cousin preferring to go to the beach and swimming in the day, I love contemplate the sunset and to go to the disco in the night.

A useful website in elementary teaching!

Today I’m going to write about a website where to appear something interesting elements about my career: elementary teaching. That website is a blog created by Jordana Amarantha and here we can found different thing that we can use not only in the career, but in my initial practice in the elementary-school where I stay, it is called “El Osito regalon” (JUNJI)in the infantile nursery level.

A typical day when I was searching information about games and group`s dynamics for to learn to do in the elementary school or in the infantile nursery I found a website. (I don`t remember the URL)

In that page we can found different section and forum between people most interested basically for the topics of education and the topics of infant psychology. I remember in that page the section about short story for children, here we can see big list where to appear books for children and we can download something books and for others is necessary buy it.

Other section that I visited yesterday was about something dynamics of groups and activities in different topics, for example logic-mathematics, language, activities for to paint or do handicrafts. Exist other section very interesting, for example where to appear sings and information about the careful of the child in general.

I really like that website because is a big help for working with children.

Education in Chile

I think that receive a good education is elementally in all the aspects, because is very important that all the people obtaining a education not only in basic knowledge as to learn to read, to write, mathematics, sciences, etc. But a solid education in values, habit and behavior that is sociality correct. Is very important to receive a good education, it is a human right that every people to must have.

In general the bad with the school is the “banking education” (topic developing by Paulo Freire) where the students are sitting looking at the whiteboard, in silence to must hearts all that the teacher to say. The students need to obey for to learn best, to learn the things that are in the books, etc. their role is to memorize and not to question yourself why they are study the thing that studding and the most important, to recognize to the teacher as the person who has all the knowledge.

The education in Chile is not bad completely, because exist different kind of school where something thing are good but others is not. The problem with that are the differences that exist between a private and a state school or university in the teaching, the quality and in the cost of the education.

Differences about the two kind of subvention school (states and privates) are for example the teaching of English. So in a private school from they was kids this kind of school to teach the language. In the infant, the child has more neuron and is easier to learn English or other language different to the mother language. But in the state school the English beginning to teaching from the children have twelve or more age. Or in the bad of the case the English is not contemplate in the curriculum of the school.

Fortunately when I was a student in the school my school was very good in the majority of the aspects, but my old school is a subsidy school (other kind of school). But the last school when I “studied” was horrible (in the secondary education), the teacher was poor, irritable and they was discourage all the time. The only that they did are write in the whiteboard and sometimes to explaining some activity.

The main problem that the education needs to resolve is the big difference between the forms of to pay and the most important thing is to resolve the quality in education. That not to be the private school the unique institutes that have a best education in the country, that the poor people could have access to a best education and free pay.

The Ugly Truth!

The ugly truth.

I choose the film “the ugly truth” because is one of my favorites films and this in particular was important for me because I watched it with my boyfriend in the cinema and I remember how we laugh with this romantic comedy.

The creators of this film was the same production that in the film “legally blonde” and wrote by three woman in USA. The movie opened in July the last year.
The movie tells the history of Abby Richter (Katherine Heigl), she working in television as producer. Her life in the professional and in the job in perfect, but she has a big problem: bad luck for to found the love.

One day she watched in the TV a program called “the Ugly Truth”, she indignant about the cynicism of the presenter Mike Chadway (Gerad Butler) when he to talk about the woman and the relation with the men decided to call to the TV`s program and to discuss whit he.

In the next day she receive the bad news about her TV`s program, it is in imminent risk of cancelation a cause of little audience. For this reason the owner of the TV`s company decided to hire to Mike as the presenter of the program.

Abby never thinks that she will receive help of her presenter, but what is the problem with that? Here presenter is a WOMANIZER!! Not only he has a big luck with the girls but Mike beginning to receive excellent comments between her workmates too. And the most important Mike will beginning to help to Abby to found date and he will teach conquest`s strategies and to captivate the attention of her neighbor.

The movie ending when Mike and Abby find out that……. I not am going to tell the end of the movie. I recommend it, is a very funny movie, ideal for see with the boy/girl-friend but is not necesary. You can to learn something things whith this movie.

In the class of today I had the possibility of visited the page

This page is new for me. At the beginning I wanted to watch the “flatmates”, but I can`t because the JavaScript wasn`t install. Then I founded a quizzes where I played the game “wordmaster”, it was funny and useful for to listen the pronunciation of any words. In that game we can found different level, I played in easy and medium level and the idea was complete a sentence with a unknown word, but in the game we has the number of letters that that word had and all the game was against the clock.

Then I wanted to prove me in other game "beat the keeper", but I was difficult because I didn`t understand the instructions, so I bored and I changed the game again. In the last game that I played was “the teacher”, we can found different level too and different speed, there appeared a question and options for answer it.

Finally I think that the games is not for me because I lost all the time in the last games that I played, but I prefer the “wordmaster” game. The idea of the game is practice the English and to learn more and more in a funny form.

The night of the earthquake...

The night of February 27 I was sleeping before of watch the Ricardo Arjona`s presentations in the Viña del Mar`s festival. In that moment I was in a little city called Rengo and it is close to Talca, I was providing in the house of my aunt. In this place I was to enjoy my vacations with my cousin, uncle and aunt.

I was sleeping with my cousin in the same bed in the second floor and suddenly I wake up because of the strong movement of the house and I try to wake to my cousin, but she not want wake up. Then my aunt waked up very frightened and crying. My uncle was holding a big bedroom furniture, but we can`t to go down the stairs.
In the moment of the earthquake we had to waiting that all over and the minute was eternal and we were very frightened. Then we went to my grandmother`s house for knowing if she was ok or not.

Unfortunately the house to my aunt and my grandmother supported the earthquake. But I was very worried because I don`t know nothing about my family. Later I talk with my mother and my family was fine.

Finally with the aftershocks I`m alert all the time, but I don`t feel scared is only for precaution.

About me and my expectations

Hello, my name is Francisca Sandoval and I am 20. I`m studying education in the social sciences faculty from 2009, this is my second year here. I wanted to study this career because in my life I played with my brother, cousins and friend to be the teacher and I like very much the children, they are the future of Chile.

My expectation for this semester in the english class are learning more and more the language, the pronunciation and learning to write correctly because more and more is necessary to know this language not only in my career, for example to see a movie or read a magazine or read the instructions about anything. And if I will be a teacher is necessary knowing the basic and I could teaching this language in the future to my little students.
